Serving up a Memorable Premiere Party for King Richard
It’s Oscar week and all of Tinseltown is buzzing with excitement! As the countdown to Hollywood’s biggest night continues, we’re excited to share details from Warner Bros.’ King Richard Premiere Party which was designed and produced by JOWY Productions. Keep reading for all the details about the premiere party for one of last year’s most hyped films that is nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture!
A smash hit. There simply isn’t a better way to describe King Richard, Warner Bros.’ beautiful film about the father and driving force behind two of the most successful female athletes of all time - tennis icons Venus and Serena Williams. As avid fans of the sport, JOWY Productions was particularly thrilled to design the film’s premiere party. For this very special celebration we teamed up with an incredibly talented vendor team that helped us ACE the production!
400 guests attended the star-studded event which was held at Sunset Tower Hotel following the premiere of the film at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. The design was a mix of blacks, greys, golds and white with a pop of “tennis ball green”. Unique floral arrangements paired with greenery “growing” on the hanging pendants in the peak of the tent created a beautiful focal point in addition to the glistening Los Angeles cityscape backdrop. We incorporated subtle nods to tennis throughout the decor including tray passed Champagne with frozen green grapes (“tennis balls”) and a fun photo backdrop with tiled tennis balls - perfect for selfies!
It was an amazing night celebrating an incredible film and paying homage to a fantastic sport. Guests at the event raved about the film and there was definitely an Oscar-buzz in the air! The movie King Richard is up against some fierce competition on Sunday, but in true Venus and Serena fashion, the production team is ready to take on the challenge. To quote Richard Williams:
“The most strongest, the most powerful, the most dangerous creature on this whole earth is a woman who knows how to think. Ain't nothing she can't do.”
Appropriately, this year the Oscars will be hosted by three incredible women: Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes. It’s perfectly setup to be a fantastic show because - just like Venus and Serena - these women always bring their A game!
The 94th Academy Awards will be aired on ABC on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
